Do you remember, as a kid, taunting and teasing "first is the worst, second is the best, third is the one (fill in the blank)" about EVERYTHING? Well, I'm here to present my evidence that first is, in fact, the best, second is all right and third shows signs of burn out. I would love your feedback on all three of my pitches so...
Last round I received more critique than I had in the first round, and I agree that getting some of my body in the screen and allowing myself the freedom to be expressive is a plus. But I still want more feedback thus pitch no. 3. Is it better to keep it short or extend it out? Would the pitch work better if I were dressed in a button up, looking natural, rocking mom mode? I personally think it's important to be genuine, but I understand the world of work is different from the world I'm presently living in. To have a real shot at financing, would true business dress be required?
I think the concept of an elevator pitch, standing in an elevator with someone and spitting out your best, dictates a video with more body, which is why my first pitch is my favorite. That and the fact that I felt unrestrained in terms of the angle and my body language. The only reason I toned it down and pulled back was to come across more professional, and I don't know that's the right route for me or my business.
What do you think? I'm anxiously awaiting your comments. If you're a shy drive-by, clickity click below on the survey.
Good afternoon Kelly,
ReplyDeleteI loved your enthusiasm to the project. The idea for place strictly for 5 and under sounds cool but what activities do you for those bringing the kids there? I remember when my girls were little and I would take them to places like Chuckie Cheese and be bored out of my mind. I think maybe a mention for the people bringing the kids might be a cool addition. Overall great job. Check out my post..

Kelly,
ReplyDeleteWow I think you have the most enthusiastic blog post I've seen so far. And your idea to include a poll is super clever and helpful. So many people just lurk around on the internet, polling is a great way to tap into those people.
I don't think it was too long or anything, it was a good length. But maybe try being farther away from the camera. As far as what you wear -- do with what makes you the most comfortable and confident! Your demeanor is more important than your clothes (but, still don't wear pajamas of course). Great job with this project!
I would link to my own pitch but I forgot to do it, feel free to check out the rest of my blog (taylorjnoe.blogspot.com).
Kelly,
ReplyDeleteYour enthusiasm for your elevator pitch is amazing! It really makes a person excited for the service you are providing for your customers. I really like how you told your viewers why your service is better to similar ones. You addressed points that were important and critical for better feedback. I really like your service as well! You addressed a problem and found a solution! I can't wait to see your service grow! Our videos are the same quality and a lot of people on my blog said that that needed to be changed, but I don't think that! I think it is fine if your video isn't high definition. We are all starting out anyway! Good luck, and check out my elevator pitch! http://itsmyblogforentc3003.blogspot.com/2016/03/elevator-pitch-no3.html
